Three in one

Design office, architecture, construction

Separating the three roles is the norm. There is a reason for it, and there is a cost nobody quotes to the client.

Design office, architecture, construction

Three roles, no handovers

Why the three together

The classic arrangement puts three firms in series. The architect draws, the design office sizes, the builder executes. Every handover is a delay, and every gap between the three sets of documents becomes extra work that you pay for, because none of the three is really answerable for it.

Bringing the three together changes the nature of the work more than its speed. A drawing is made knowing how it will be formed. A calculation note is written knowing which reinforcement is available in Douala this week. A quotation is priced by the people who did both. Those are three conversations that do not have to happen by letter.

The trade-off is simple, and it is in your favour: there is no longer anyone to pass responsibility to. When a problem appears on site, it is ours, from the drawing to the handover.

« The drawing is calculated by the people who drew it, and built by the people who calculated it. »
